CIPA at the heart of broadband

At the request of Business New Brunswick (a provincial department), the Collectivit� ing�nieuse de la p�ninsule acadienne (CIPA) inc. has presented, on October 31, 2002, a first round proposal under Industry Canada's Broadband for Rural and Northern Development Pilot Program. The Industry Minister, counselled by the National Selection Committee (NSC), will announce the selected candidates on December 20, 2002. The CIPA, which will take on the role of community leader for all rural areas in the province, will proceed if its proposal is approved, to the development of a detailed business plan, which will then be presented in second round, on March 31, 2003.
