Meeting - Canadian Smart Communities - Shawinigan
The city of Shawinigan, home of the Carrefour virtuel de la Mauricie (www.carrefourvirtuel.qc.ca),
the Quebec pilot project, hosted an important national meeting for project
leaders from the twelve smart communities selected under Industry Canada�s
Smart Communities Program (smartcommunities.ic.gc.ca),
from October 24 to 26, 2002.
Mr. Jacques L�ger, Executive Director and Mr. Charles-�douard Landry,
Administrative and Financial Services Director represented the CIPA.
Discussions focused on the durability and sustainability of projects,
evaluation plans, new programs and Web servers. A meeting which, according
to our representatives, was a very productive one since new contacts were
made with various intervenors, allowing us to foresee more concrete action
in the development of the CIPA�s objectives.
