Major
announcement regarding broadband in New Brunswick

Tuesday, November 18, 2020) - The Collectivit� ing�nieuse de la P�ninsule
acadienne (CIPA) inc. was very happy to learn that an agreement has been
reached between both levels of government and Aliant, that will help provide
broadband access to all residents of New Brunswick.
This financial agreement, in the amount of 44.6 million dollars, was
concluded this morning by Mr. Bernard Lord, Prime Minister of New Brunswick,
Mr. Allan Rock, Industry Minister and Minister responsible for
Infrastructure, and Mr. Jay Forbes, president and CEO of Aliant.
This money will provide for the launch of an important process leading to
the delivery of broadband services to most rural communities throughout the
province. The Collectivit� ing�nieuse de la P�ninsule acadienne (CIPA)
inc. has worked closely with the province in the elaboration of a
sustainable plan for the implementation of a broadband infrastructure in New
Brunswick communities.
CIPA will continue to play an important role in this project by intensifying
its joint efforts with the province�s rural communities to encourage the
use of new information and communications technologies through high-speed
access.
